“Charmed”, or THE cult series of the late 90s, early 2000s, just lost one of its iconic stars, Rebecca Balding, died on July 20 at the age of 66. In the series, the actress first played the role of Polly’s aunt, then later that of Elise Rothman, the editor-in-chief of the Bay Mirror. The newspaper where Phoebe Halliwell worked, played by Alyssa Milano.
“My cousin died in Salt Lake City. Although we weren’t close as adults, she was a big influence on my interest in comedy and show business. She met her lovely husband, James L . Conway (a director, editor’s note), on The Boogens. Mother, wife, actress, she has done it all”had announced the actress Caroline Williams, who was also his cousin, on his social networks.
In the aftermath, Alyssa Milano paid tribute to him on Instagram by sharing a photo from “Charmed”. “Rebecca Balding was not only a wonderful actress, she was a wonderful person. I loved every minute I got to spend with her on Charmed. I have such fond memories of Rebecca and her husband, Jim, dancing at the holiday season! My thoughts go out to all who loved her. I feel so honored that our paths crossed in this life. May she rest in peace.”she wrote in the caption of her photo.
Alyssa Milano often uses her social networks to share with her most loyal admirers. Between her disturbing photo posted from a hospital bed when she had Covid-19 and her speaking out on Twitter after being the victim of a serious car accident and carrying out the first rescue actions on a loved one. “We should all take every opportunity we have to protect the people we love. Get vaccinated. Wear masks. Lock your guns. Learn CPR. Small, common sense actions. It’s not hard to take care of each other, but it’s important”she said.
