Father Fouras: What does he look like without makeup?

He is the emblematic figure of Fort Boyard. Father Fouras, who will be there again next Saturday in a new episode of the show, is a pmysterious and charismatic character. He has not ceased, for so many years, to arouse many questions from fans of the program, curious, even impatient to know who is hiding behind this surprising disguise.

Well, since June 17, 2021 and a passage on Europe 1, they now have the answer since Father Fouras has finally dropped his disguise. It is actually Yann Le Gac, a 70-year-old Breton artist, former juggler and dancer. He notably worked with the famous Franco-Swiss choreographer Maurice Béjart and imagined tests for televised games like the mythical test of the poles of Koh Lanta.

“Over 30 minutes” of makeup

But he is and will probably remain famous as Father Fouras. A disguise that has become a flagship and that requires, casually, a lot of preparation. In particular, he mustundergo a make-up session of more than 30 minutes“, as indicated TV Magazine in 2010, beforeproudly displaying his long white beard and his wrinkles worthy of an old man. First you have to cover her face with a suffocating latex hood, then the make-up artist makes connections on the lips and eyelids“, detailed the journalist in stride.

Last June, during an interview with Cine TV Review. Yann Le Gac reviewed the different stages of his recruitment for Fort Boyard : I was a dancer and wanted to quit. I wanted to go into acting. I was part of a workshop with quite a few well-known actors, notably Marie Trintignant. That’s when I learned that we were looking for someone for a game on the small screen. At the time, it was very frowned upon in the profession to make television and even more entertainment. Marie Trintignant and the others were trying to dissuade me from doing that. I told them that it was not a problem, because I would wear a mask and change my voice. They wouldn’t recognize me. Besides, I was just thinking of hiding for one season. No one imagined it would last this long.”

A pretty destiny for the Breton, who has become the centerpiece of the show, alongside his master key colleague.
