On the night of July 13 to 14, in Stains in Seine-Saint-Denis, an elected official from the city, Mehdi Messai, was allegedly injured by a police officer from the BAC. The latter would have fired a flash-ball in his direction.
The elected official was in the Moulin Neuf district accompanied, in particular, by the mayor of the city Azzedine Taïbi. They were on hand to make sure the fire rescue operations were going well. Indeed, various fires broke out in the city that evening. Tension was rising in the neighborhood between the police who had come to protect the firefighters and young people who were launching fireworks.
In a Facebook post, the elected official explains that he was injured in the arm by the flash-ball shooting. An investigation is opened by the local police (DSPAP). The elected official wishes to lodge a complaint.
