The Alouettes will pay tribute to Guy Lafleur

The Montreal Alouettes will have an entire evening in store for fans gathered at Percival-Molson Stadium on Thursday, as they pay tribute to Guy Lafleur and the architects of the 2002 Gray Cup conquest.

The blonde demon’s son, Martin, and members of the Lafleur family will be on hand to unveil a new commemorative banner bearing the image of the famous number ten.

“It will be a special day to pay tribute to Guy Lafleur, who was one of the greatest athletes in Quebec,” explained Mario Cecchini, president of the Montreal Alouettes.

This game against the Edmonton Elks will also serve to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the 2002 Gray Cup.

For the occasion, Ben Cahoon, Scott Flory, Ozooma Okeke, Sylvain Girard, Stefan Reid and many others will meet the fans 90 minutes before the match.

“We are also happy to highlight the work of our legends. These alumni have shown the way for many of our players and for us as an organization. It is important to highlight the success of this 2002 champion team,” added the president.

The champions will also be presented in the center of the field at half-time.
