Perpignan, Barcarès then recently Sigean. Since the end of May, the technicians and actors of baby jesus chain the scenes in the region. Passages that put a little animation in the municipalities where they pass.
A mass outing surrounded by cameras is not common in Sigean, a town of 5,500 inhabitants. So some villagers came to watch this event. “It changes our lives, plus we live next door. It’s impressive what they do”, says this Sigeanaise. “I’m a cinephile, so I like to see behind the scenes”, adds a gentleman. “It’s entertaining”, says another resident.
It must be said that the subject of the film is quite crazy. Ten-year-old Loulou resuscitated a poodle. His father, Jean, saw him with his own eyes. But few people take it seriously, except for a priest. An unusual story written by the director of the film. Julien Rigoulot was inspired by his own son. “I find that children perform miracles every day and that we don’t realize it. I wanted to make a slightly poetic and above all funny fable around that”, he explains.
This father does not believe in God. But at a time in his life when everything is going wrong, he sees his son as the next messiah. Jean is played by Antoine Bertrand, actor and animator from Quebec. Loulou is played by Esteba Azuara. They share the bill with Gérard Darmon, Youssef Hajdi, Bruno Sanches and Caroline Anglade. The film will be released in cinemas in 2023.
