We have not yet whistled the end of the match, yet dozens of people have already gathered in front of the barrier, at the foot of the lawn, ready to take a picture with the players. This Saturday, July 9, the Trélissac football club hosted the Girondins de Bordeaux for a friendly match at the Firmin Daudou stadium. The score is of little importance, Bordeaux won 3-0, in a match without much surprise. Hundreds of Périgord spectators had put on their navy and white jerseys for the occasion.

Aurélien lives in Périgueux, Jonathan Montpon. They both put on their most beautiful jersey, one white the other blue, to support their team at heart. The Girondins, they have been following them since they were 8 years old, they watch the matches on TV, have gone to the Matmut several times. “We are here to support them. We cannot go down, it’s impossible. Otherwise, the history of the club no longer exists. Seeing the club die is not possible, when you see the years we have experienced in 2009. We can’t go down, I can’t believe that”, they sigh. They are waiting for Sekou Mara, for a selfie. Aurélien has promised that if the Girondins stay in Ligue 2, he will put his player’s name on the back of his shirt.
