The Minister of National Education Pap Ndiaye promises Thursday July 7 on France Inter “a shock of attraction” to revalorize the profession of teacher but “responding structurally to this crisis (…) will take a little time”insists the minister.
“We need to raise salaries”specifies Pap Ndiaye, for whom the current remuneration of teachers is not “not up to expectations“. The Minister announces forthcoming discussions on the subject with the trade unions.

Pap Ndiaye also recognizes “a recruitment problem” teachers, “an old problem that has worsened in recent years”. However, the Minister promises that“there will be a teacher in front of each class, in all the schools in France” next fall. “We do what it takes to”he points out.
In the meantime, Pap Ndiaye deplores too many contract teachers among teachers. “I would like us to no longer have to recruit contract workers”he explains. “We are around 8% of contract workers in the second degree, 1% in the first degree, with tense variations in certain academies”, he specifies.
