Several SNCF unions filed a strike notice on Wednesday July 6, as the summer holidays are coming for many. “Severe disruptions are expected across the entire network tomorrow. The SNCF also advises travelers to postpone or cancel their trips. First, on the regional lines, count two TER out of five on average and one Intercity out of three. The situation is also very tense in Île-de-France with around one in two RERs and with regard to TGVs the SNCF plans three out of four trains with even more difficulties on the south-eastern network of the country.Explain Gaspard de Florival, live from Gare Montparnasse, in Paris.
“So tomorrow (Wednesday, July 6), four unions are calling for a strike, a 24-hour strike. They are demanding higher wages to deal with inflation. A round table is to be held tomorrow and without agreement the unions are warning: another strike day could take place later this summer“, reports the journalist.
