A child was in a condition deemed “critical” on Saturday, after being hit by a motorist, at L’Épiphanie, in Lanaudière. The Sûreté du Québec has opened an investigation into this affair which remains unclear for the moment.

Few details are known at this time. The authorities indicate that around 11 a.m. on Saturday morning, the emergency services were called to go to Béram Street, in the Epiphany sector.
The initial 911 call was for a collision involving a “minor victim”. According to our information, it would be a toddler.
The latter suffered “significant injuries” and was rushed to a nearby hospital, said a spokesman for the Sûreté du Québec, Nicholas Scholtus.
He also specified that investigators and reconstitution agents were sent on the spot, in order to establish the causes and the circumstances surrounding this collision.
Further details are expected to be released to the public following the investigation.
