Faced with the shortage of doctors in the emergency room, the management of the hospital center had to review its organization.
For 24 hours, patients will not be able to present themselves spontaneously to the emergency room, they must systematically call 15. Samu doctors will guide them according to their symptoms. They can ask them to wait until the next day, decide to send a Smur team on site, or invite them to go to the emergency room to be taken care of.
The emergency room had already closed last week
Already last weekend, the emergency room remained closed for 6 p.m. With the approach of the summer vacation periods, the Sarlat hospital is struggling to replace all its doctors. In France, 120 to 130 emergency services are already forced to adapt to the lack of personnel.
