Faced with the Covid-19 epidemic, Prime Minister Elisabeth Borne presented the new health bill to the presidents of the parliamentary groups on Thursday, June 30. According to our colleagues from France Inter, the extension of the vaccination or health pass is not included. In order to reactivate it, the government will then have to propose a new law: the vaccination pass must disappear on July 31 with the end of the transitional regime of the state of health emergency.

Last November, Parliament adopted a “health vigilance” bill extending until July 31 the “exit from the state of health emergency” regime. This regime gave the Prime Minister the right to prohibit or restrict movement, gatherings and access to certain places. It is on this basis that the health pass was based, but also, for example, the obligation to wear a mask.

After spilling a lot of ink and triggering an unprecedented wave of violence against elected officials, the vaccine pass bowed out – at least for now – on March 14. It was therefore no longer necessary to present it to enter cinemas, restaurants, cafes, sports halls or swimming pools. Nevertheless, he was still asked to access medico-social establishments.
