The President of the Republic, Emmanuel Macron, confirmed Elisabeth Borne in her post and reiterated her confidence. She will have to propose a new government to him on his return from Bavaria, at the beginning of July.

From Bavaria (Germany), Emmanuel Macron wanted to clarify the political situation in France. In an interview with AFP, Saturday June 25, he made an update concerning Elisabeth Borne. “The Prime Minister has my confidence to lead the government’s action over the long term for our country.“. Its mission? To hold consultations with the different groups in the Assembly: are they ready for a government agreement? To vote for confidence? Discussions will continue until July 1, the date of Emmanuel Macron’s return. Elisabeth Borne will then make proposals to him to form a government in the first days of the month.

The hand is outstretched towards the opposition, ranging from Republicans to Communists. The PCF, is the only one, Sunday, June 26, to leave the door open under very strict conditions. “Let things be clear. The extension of the retirement age is a sticking point. We are ready to discuss, to vote, to support all measures that will go in the direction of increasing wages and increasing pensions, lower taxes on energy products on gasoline bills“, declared Fabien Roussel. The opening of the president towards the opposition will be done without the insubordinate France nor the National Rally.
