“It may not be amazing, but it won’t be worse,” says a voter

Gilbert took his car this Sunday evening to attend the results. He came from a town south of Bergerac with his wife to go to Bergerac, about twenty kilometers from their home. The couple voted for the Rassemblement National candidate, Serge Muller. He is the first candidate of the Rassemblement National to become deputy of the Dordogne. The nursing assistant at the Saint-Astier EHPAD obtains 50.44% of the votes in the second constituency. He is ahead of outgoing MP Michel Delpon by a few hundred votes.

“We must try”

Gilbert and his wife hoped to meet Serge Muller in Bergerac but the candidate, new deputy was in the prefecture in Périgueux. Gilbert is 78 years old, he is retired, former manager of a building company. Gilbert did not want to vote for the incumbent, Michel Delpon, Ensemble candidate: “I saw him and I told him what did you do for five years? Nothing at all, he did nothing”. The Bergerac retiree believes that it is necessary “attempt the National Rally” because “like de Gaulle, they have only one word”. Gilbert cites the example of General “when he said something, it was liked or it was not liked but it was applied. The RN, they will remove some taxes and align pensions with inflation […] maybe it won’t be amazing but to make it worse it won’t be possible”.
