Sunday, June 19, the turnout at 12 p.m. is 18.99% for the second round of the legislative elections. “It’s an increase from the first round. In a way, we are reconnecting with the burst of the between-two-towers. There, it’s + 0.56 points. By comparison, in 2017, we were at 17.75%, a historically low figure. There, between the first and the second round, we had lost 1.5 points“explains journalist Jean-Christophe Batteria, live from a polling station for the 13 Hours newspaper.
“Regional disparities remain those of last week. It is in the Lot where we voted the most (29.05%), then comes Corrèze (28.50%) and then the Hautes-Alpes (26.69%). Conversely, it is in the departments of Île-de-France around Paris where we voted the least. In Seine-Saint-Denis (8.88%), we are less than half the national average. In Val-d’Oise, we are at 10.1% and in Paris 10.81%, departments where voters move late”recalls Jean-Christophe Battery.
