A new training in October at the National Center for Straw Construction in Montargis

It is a popular type of insulation: straw; increasingly demanded by local authorities and businesses – even Lidl would like to build warehouses with straw insulation ! Problem: opposite, there are not enough qualified personnel in France to meet demand. Hence this new 12 month training “Head in charge of energy and sustainable building project” soon to be launched by the National Center for Straw Construction in Montargis. Initially scheduled for June, it will finally open its doors in October (for timing reasons, this was better suited to future trainees in particular). This bac + 3 bac +4 level training is still looking for participants; there is in total twenty places.

A strong demand

There are a lot of requests from businesses, communities, who tell us: we don’t have the skills on the job market, we can’t find them. Some communities tell us: we can’t fulfill our mission, we can’t do sustainable development, sustainable buildings, because we can’t find the skills“says Laurent Vanvoorde, educational coordinator at Maison Feuillette.

To partly meet this demand, the new training of the Center national de la construction straw will start in a few months. Part of the course will take place in Montargis (initially at Château Cépoy) where theoretical and practical courses will be offered; the second part of the training will take place in a company (6 months).

To register for this training, you can contact the Maison Feuillette directly. All contact details and practical information are visible on his Facebook page.
