Swarm, a new range of bags by Julie-Anne Ho
Timeless and durable bags that are both chic and casual, that’s what influencer and content creator Julie-Anne Ho offers with her very first fashion brand, Essaim.
First thought to be a line of travel accessories, Swarm (a name that echoes travel) took another trajectory when the pandemic hit. The kit and the travel bag (duffle) remained, but the rest of this first collection is made up of bags designed to be useful on a daily basis. In vegan leather — made from polyurethane — the bags are offered in neutral tones in addition to orange for one of them.

“It was important to get away from the fast fashion “, says the one who studied fashion marketing and who became known during her participation in reality TV shows OD Greece and OD with us. “I don’t want to release more than two collections a year. I wanted to present pieces that were interesting, minimalist, edgy, yes, but which remained timeless. So I went with curves and colors that can age well over time. »
“I realized that fashion is not necessarily the trend of the moment, but it’s what you do with it, it’s your way of expressing yourself, it’s you, adds- she. Today, I buy pieces that are much more durable and that I will be able to wear often. »
Sold online only for the moment, Essaim’s products are designed and designed in Montreal and designed in China since it is difficult to find this manufacturing expertise in Quebec, explains Julie-Anne Ho. She also wanted to offer accessible products. with prices ranging from $45 to $175 for this collection. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to Let’s Bond, a collective that raises funds for the cause of mental health.
