In the acute crisis that PSG went through with its ultras (a crisis that is not completely over), a person at PSG has proven to be very important: Hanane Laqraa. The very discreet referent-supporters of the capital club has been in place for five months but her name only appears now. Hanane Laqraa did a lot of behind-the-scenes work on this tense case of angry supporters and maintained the dialogue with the Collectif Ultras Paris during the months of the encouragement strike. Moreover, someone close to the file explains to us that she is “one of the only people with whom the link was never cut during the crisis”. And even if she does not like to take the light, the new referent-supporters had a real role in the end of the protest movement of the CUP during the last day of the championship.
“Calm, cash and sometimes hard”
At PSG for more than eight years, Hanane Laqraa has worked in many departments of the Parisian club (ticketing, hospitality or even coordination of away and home matches). Since the start of 2022, this energetic 30-year-old has therefore become the new supporter relations manager for the Parisian club. A mandatory position in professional clubs since 2016. A position that very few women have held in France (only Lyon and two other L1 clubs since 2016 have appointed or had referent supporters).
Important sign, the leaders of the PSG ultras that France Bleu Paris was able to contact salute the work and the sense of dialogue by Hanane Laqraa whose style “calm, cash and sometimes hard” pleases CUP officials. Now with Hanane Laqraa, the referent-supporter unit has three people with Malik Nait-Liman (former police officer) and Jérôme Gaston (former from the Paris police headquarters).
