In Calais, four exiles who were trying to reach England on two kayaks were also rescued. The Cross-Gris-Nez was also informed that two other kayaks had been found adrift. Two castaways were finally recovered by a speedboat from the national gendarmerie but they explained that three people were missing. Means were deployed in the area, including the Dauphin helicopter of the French Navy, but the search yielded nothing and was suspended on Thursday evening.
