The man who allegedly stabbed an individual who wanted to rob him at home in Laval on Tuesday did not ultimately act in self-defense.

Former mixed martial arts fighter Icho Larenas is charged with second degree murder. His spouse accused of complicity after the fact.
The house inside which the home robbery was committed is owned by a numbered company that belongs to one of the largest real estate brokers in Laval. She had been rented by Icho Larenas and his spouse for a few months.
Originally from Argentina, the 42-year-old man had pleaded guilty in 2000 to a charge of assault causing injury to a customer, while he was a doorman at the bar Le Dagobert, in Quebec.
Larenas, a 6-foot-3, 250-pound colossus, has had 12 career professional mixed martial arts fights, posting a record of six wins and six losses.
