In Ukraine, the trial of a 21-year-old Russian soldier, accused of having killed a civilian, is taking place. On the spot in kyiv, we find Julien CholineWednesday, May 18.

It is an event trial that is taking place in Ukraine, so the fighting is raging in the country. “The (Russian) soldier already serves as a symbol first of all given the facts with which he is accused”reports journalist Julien Cholineduplex from kyiv, Wednesday, May 18. The facts date back to February 28. The 21-year-old sergeant enters with his tank in a Ukrainian village 50 km from the Russian border. On the road, he allegedly shot down an unarmed 62-year-old civilian with a burst of submachine guns.

“Did the Russian soldier break the laws of war by attacking a civilian? To judge, no military court but a simple district court, here in kyiv”explains Julian Choline. Ukraine thus wants to show that it will judge war crimes one by one. 12,000 surveys were launched.
