Tour de France women 2022: the route of the 3rd stage between Reims and Epernay

Champagne! The 3rd stage of the Tour de France women 2022on Tuesday July 27, takes the runners through the Champagne vineyards, from Reims to Epernay, over 133 uneven km.

On the program: a first climb with 1 km at 5%, 21.6 km from the start, then, in the second part of the stage, a succession of difficulties: Côte de Vertus (700 m at 7%), Côte du Mesnil- sur-Oger (1.6 km at 6.7%).

The peloton will cross the finish line for the first time in Epernay, before setting off again for 25 km, marked by two new difficulties. Particularly the coast of Mutigny, 900 m at 12.1%.

Reims, city of the coronations of the kings of France, is also the birthplace of Pauline Ferrand-Prévot, multiple world champion in road cycling, cyclo-cross, cross-country and mountain biking. As for the city of arrival, Epernayshe marked the 2019 Tour: Julian Alaphilippe had won the stage and put on the yellow jersey.

Twenty-four cycling teams, including five French, will compete in this first edition of the Tour de France women. Eight stages on the program, from July 24 to 31, for a total of 1,029 km of racing. The route will cross three regions (Île-de-France, Grand Est and Bourgogne-France-Comté) and 11 departments. Four flat stages, two hilly stages and two mountain stages with an altitude finish at La Super Planche des Belles Filles.
