[PHOTOS] Domestic violence: a 46-year-old woman stabbed in Beauport

A 46-year-old woman was the victim of an attempted murder after being stabbed by her spouse in the Beauport sector, in Quebec, Thursday evening.

The police were called to 911 shortly after 11 p.m. for an armed assault that occurred in an apartment building on Sainte-Cécile Street, near Sainte-Anne Boulevard.

When they arrived at the scene, the police officers of the Quebec City Police Service found the forty-something with injuries caused by a knife.

The victim was transported to a hospital, but there is no fear for his life, according to a spokesperson for the SPVQ, who specifies that a 51-year-old man was apprehended inside the accommodation.

The suspect kept in detention will appear on Friday for attempted murder and breach of probation, added the SPVQ.
