Police fired shots at cocaine traffickers as they fled on Tuesday morning April 26 in the port district of Le Havre, in Seine-Maritime, learned France Bleu Normandie and France Télévisions from police sources. The scene was filmed and the video is circulating on social networks.

According to information from France Télévisions, the Rouen judicial police were on surveillance around a truck containing cocaine this Tuesday morning around 10 a.m. The vehicle ended up breaking down in the middle of the road and, according to the first elements of the investigation, the traffickers decided to unload the drugs on the spot. Seeing this, the police finally decided to intervene, but the suspects then tried to escape. The officers fired several times in their direction, without managing to stop them and without causing any injuries.

Video released on social media shows a large truck carrying a dark blue container stopped. A small white truck is parked just behind. We see two individuals in civilian clothes, one coming out of a van stopped in the opposite direction and another arriving from the back pointing a gun at this white truck. Quickly, the small truck fled and the two individuals fired at least six shots in its direction, but the vehicle continued on its way.

A photo, also posted on social media, shows the back of what appears to be the broken down blue truck: the container door is open, revealing the many large white bags inside the vehicle and a few bags on floor.

The suspects are still being sought, according to a police source. Only one person was arrested and taken into custody in this case. It is the driver of the small white truck, a 29-year-old man of French nationality, learned franceinfo from a source close to the investigation. A total of 280 kilos of cocaine were seized, according to the same source. The investigation was entrusted to the specialized interregional court of Lille, according to France Bleu Normandie.
