The event occurred at 2 p.m. at the intersection of rue Roland and boulevard Léger near a convenience store.

According to the first information obtained by the Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM), an altercation took place between several people. “The victim was injured in the upper body by a sharp object,” said SPVM spokesperson Véronique Comtois.

The young man would then have gone to take refuge in a nearby convenience store. He was still there when the police arrived. He was then transferred to a hospital where he is in stable condition.

The scene is currently protected and investigators are on site to determine the exact circumstances of the tragedy.
