Quebec reports 61 more hospitalizations related to COVID-19

Quebec reports Tuesday 18 new deaths linked to COVID-19, as well as an increase in hospitalizations.

There are currently 2,281 hospitalizations, an increase of 61 from Monday. A total of 101 people are in intensive care, up from six.

In all, 10,636 health care workers are absent for reasons related to COVID-19, such as preventive withdrawal or a period of isolation.

In total, compared to Thursday, the date of the latest available data, there are 127 more hospitalizations and 96 additional deaths.

The Ministry of Health reports 1783 new cases. However, this number is not representative of the situation since access to screening centers is restricted to priority groups.

Since the start of the pandemic, 1,021,106 infections have been reported, and 14,714 of them have proven fatal.

A total of 184,546 rapid tests have been self-reported so far on the platform put online by the government, including 150,253 positive. For the day on Monday, 966 tests were declared, including 797 positive.

The Ministry of Health says 11,662 tests were carried out on Monday and the positivity rate is 14.7%.

As for vaccination, 19,137 doses have been administered in Quebec in the last 24 hours.

Among those 5 years and older, 91% received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, 87% received at least two doses and 54% received at least three doses.
