Left this Sunday with the coleader’s cap in the company of Belgian Thomas Pieters, Matthieu Pavon has long believed in victory. After taking the lead in the race thanks to a good consistency (four birdies on the first ten holes), he conceded a triple bogey on the 12th hole to return a card of 70.
Thomas Pieters, who completed the course in 68 strokes, won the Portugal Masters that the Bordeaux driver finished in 2nd place tied with the Danes Nicolai Hojgaard and Lucas Bjeregaard.
