On Saturday 9 April, the “Les petits dishes dans l’screen” section of the 13 Heures newspaper presents a strawberry produced at Plougastelin Brittany. This fruit is famous for its taste.
To Plougastel (Finistère)the strawberry was imported to XVIIIᵉ century. “She came to Plougastel first, after leaving Chile and she liked it very quickly“, explains Régis Pichon, strawberry grower. With his wife, Jocelyne, he collects more than 8,000 kilos of strawberries. Gariguettes, ciflorettes or charlottes offer strawberry diversity from Plougastel. With the heat of March, strawberries are 15 days ahead and are on Olivier’s menu Bellinchef of the Auberge des Glazicks.
The chef is planning a strawberry sorbet, with a strawberry salad and a smoked vinaigrette. “It’s a cook’s salad, rather than a pastry chef’s salad”explains Olivier Bellin. He makes his staff taste his new dessert. “The strawberry is in declination, but each time it tastes different“, describes Marie Fromager, head waiter at the Auberge des Glazicks.
