Another trip canceled for OM supporters. They are banned from traveling to Greece for the match against PAOK Salonika, second leg of the quarter-finals of the Europe Conference League. OM won the first leg 2-1.
The Greek authorities decided on this ban following the violence on the sidelines and during the match at the Vélodrome, Wednesday and Thursday. They denounce the management of the reception of the 3,000 Greek supporters in Marseille.
A dangerous trip?
If the Marseille supporters expected such a decision, they cannot digest the fact of no longer being able to travel to encourage their team. “For two or three years, we have hardly made any trips”rebels Hamza, the group secretary of the South Winners Olympian supporters groupasked about France Bleu Provence.
For this Olympian supporter, the Marseillais are not responsible scuffles and destruction of equipment. “Guys [les supporters grecs, ndlr.] disembark the day before, they lay down their law in Marseille, they have turned the city upside down and they are surprised that it ends like this”, annoys the OM fan. On social networks, some Marseille supporters reason by saying that the trip would have been too dangerous, that the supporters of PAOK Salonika could have wanted revenge.
Following the violence in Marseille, five supporters received prison sentences, including an ultra Greek who is now banned from French territory.
