Explosions took place Tuesday evening in the small town of Radekhiv, 70 kilometers from Lviv, the big city in western Ukraine, announced a local official, calling on the population to take shelter.

“Explosions in the Radekhiv region. Everyone stays safe, ”wrote on Telegram Maksym Kozitskiï, head of the regional military administration.
“At this time, we have no information on possible victims,” he added.
An AFP journalist in Lviv heard anti-aircraft sirens there.
Located far from the front, Lviv and western Ukraine have rarely been targeted by bombardment since the start of the Russian invasion of Ukraine on February 24.
On March 26, Lviv suffered a series of Russian strikes, two of which hit a fuel depot and injured five, according to local authorities.
This city had been the target of a first strike on March 18, which had hit an aircraft repair factory near the airport, without causing any casualties, according to the mayor.
And on March 13, Russian cruise missiles targeted a major military base about 40 kilometers northwest of Lviv, killing at least 35 people and injuring 134.
Close to the Polish border, Lviv has become a city of refuge for displaced people and at the start of the war hosted several Western embassies transferred from kyiv. Many Ukrainians who fled the combat zones on their way to Poland or other EU countries also stop there.
