The Boos are back. Twenty-four years since the last time: the other century. Now is the time, we say. After the return of grunge, britpop would show up: the cycle is generational. But… the Boos without Martin Carr, is that possible? The creator of beloved melodies, the ace of funny detours on the guitar: the soul, the heart, the center! The fans are torn: of course we lose. But the airy tunes of the group, inspired by Brian Wilson, bathed in a padded, invariably pleasant psychedelia, were and still are a matter of harmonic games and good vibrations on the part of Sice Rowbottom, Tim Brown and Rob Cieka. Real Boos. Admittedly, we no longer taste what made the candy a little sour, but I dare spring not to kiss the adorable A Full Syringe and Memories of You and I’ve Had Enough I’m Out (delicious sitar!), and not to nod in the first bars of the spruce I Say a Lot of Things. Not to sulk its Boos, it is also good.
