A man tries to end his life at General Electric in Belfort

A 50-year-old man tried to end his life this Wednesday, March 23, at General Electric. Around 7:20 a.m. on Wednesday, he was seen by a CCTV camera trying to commit suicide, by hanging, the firefighters said, on an outside staircase on the company site.

The emergency services, warned, were able to arrive and take care of this man, then in cardio-respiratory arrest. He was airlifted in serious condition to the University Hospital of Besançon.

In a statement, the company says it is “deeply saddened by this tragic event”and states that “[sa] first priority is to support the data subject, their family and our employees”, without specifying whether this act carries a professional claim. General Electric announces that an investigation is underway.
