(Sao Paulo) The Brazilian aircraft manufacturer Embraer reported on Wednesday a net profit of 11.1 million reais (about 2.8 million CAN) in the 4and quarter, exceeding the losses recorded in the same period of 2020, a sign of recovery after the blow caused by the coronavirus pandemic.

In the last quarter of the previous year, losses amounted to 7.7 million reais (nearly 2 million CAN).
For the whole of 2021, Embraer once again ended the year in the red, with a net loss of 274.8 million reais (about 70 million CAN), according to a press release published at the close of the markets.
The figure represents an improvement on 2020, when the company recorded losses of 3.6 billion reais, or almost C$1 billion, a fateful year for the company due to the closures imposed around the world due to of the health crisis.
The group has put forward an annual growth of 15%, up to 22.7 billion reais (5.8 billion CAN), in line with forecasts.
Embraer deliveries also met targets for the year, according to the report, with 48 commercial aircraft, up 9% from 2020, and 93 business jets, up 8%.
