(Montreal) An octogenarian is in critical condition after a snowmobile accident at the end of the afternoon in Saint-Joseph-de-Kamouraska, in Bas-Saint-Laurent.

The driver would have lost control of his snowmobile in a curve before hitting a tree, near the road to Picard, explained Sergeant Catherine Bernard, of the Sûreté du Québec.
The man was unconscious when first responders arrived. He was transported to the Rivière-du-Loup hospital center, where there are fears for his life.
A police officer in collision investigation moved to the scene to clarify the causes of this event.
