Fabien Landron from the RIMe project (Representing Mediterranean Identities) at the UMR CNRS 6240 LISA of the University of Corsica:
“At the invitation of our colleagues from the University of Toulouse who carried out this work, we have programmed the screening of this documentary which deals with an aspect of the carnival in Sardinia. We are offering a double screening with this representation of the carnival with an equestrian joust a strong tradition for the Sardinians. The carnival is very popular throughout Italy, but more particularly in Sardinia. The projections will be precisely the opportunity to wonder about this phenomenon and a parallel with Corsica _where there are some events events during the carnival but on a smaller scale. We will see how Corsica can move away or be inspired by the traditions of the sister island that is Sardinia, so close or so far away. This is an opportunity to_welcome our colleagues from the Jean Jaurès University of Toulouse, authors of this feature film Margherita Orsino and Guy SciortinoCaria as well as the cameraman Christophe Griffoul, who will enlighten the public on the course, the meaning and the weight of the Sartiglia d’Oristano”.
