(Chicago) The Chicago Blackhawks interviewed former Montreal Canadiens assistant general manager Scott Mellanby as part of the process to find their new general manager.

The team made the announcement in a press release on Saturday.
The 55-year-old Mellanby played 1,431 NHL season games. He had 364 goals and 476 assists in his 21 seasons on the league.
He was employed by the Canadiens between 2014 and last November, when he resigned.
The Blackhawks also gave interviews to interim general manager Kyle Davidson and Carolina Hurricanes assistant general manager Eric Tulsky.
Davidson was appointed to serve as interim chief executive when Stan Bowman, who had held the position for many years, resigned in the wake of the Kyle Beach case.
In October, an outside firm concluded that Bowman mishandled Beach’s allegations that a former assistant coach sexually assaulted him during the 2010 Stanley Cup Playoffs.
The firm’s report also led to the departure of Al MacIsaac, another key member of Blackhawks management. The NHL fined the team $2 million for ‘the inefficiency of its processes’ [de dénonciation] and its inadequate response to this situation”.
Former Blackhawks forwards Eddie Olczyk, Marian Hossa and Patrick Sharp are helping the team find its new general manager.
The team’s president and CEO, Danny Wirtz, said the group intended to meet candidates from different backgrounds.
