The people of Menton are called to the polls this Sunday, January 30 to elect a new mayor, to replace Jean-Claude Guibal who died last October. The death of the mayor, who had spent 32 years at the head of the town, caused a political crisis in the municipality, against the backdrop of a war of succession between two former deputies, Yves Juhel and Sandra Paire, who are both candidates. Five lists are declared.
The five lists running for the town hall of Menton
- “Menton pour tous” worn by Yves Juhel (various right)
- “United for Menton” worn by Sandra Paire (LR)
- “Menton avec vous” worn by Anthony Malvault (various right – former municipal councilor of Roquebrune-Cap-Martin and RN candidate for the departmental)
- “Other Chin” worn by Marjorie Jouen (citizen collective)
- “Let’s reconcile Menton” carried by Stéphanie Loisy (united left EELV / PS / PCF / Generations)
Polling stations open at 8 a.m. this Sunday and close at 8 p.m. If no candidate exceeds 50% of the vote, a second round will take place on Sunday February 6. All the lists that have obtained more than 10% of the votes will participate in this second round.
