The case caused a stir in schools. Many establishments complain of having received outdated self-tests from the National Education. the ministry defends.
A box apparently banal, but which contains an expired self-test in three days. A teacher has just received it from National Education, and is to use it in the coming months. “We have been asking for self-tests for months, without getting an answer and there, in disaster, we receive boxes that are soon to expire. This fuels the feeling that we are despised by the ministry”says Sophie Venetitay, SNES-FSU general secretary.
She is not the only one in this case. Throughout France, many teachers have found themselves in the same situation, as is the case in Haute-Savoie, specifies Philippe Domergue, co-secretary of SNUIPP-FSU of the department. In a statement, the ministry defends itself and points out that the distributions were carried out in April and May 2021. “The state of expiry was between January 2022 and April 2023”he wrote. In question, a problem of distribution and management of partly spoiled stocks, since once the expiry date has passed, a test is no longer reliable.
