The year 2022 promises to be fruitful in unveilings, to say the least. Manufacturers continue on the path of electrification while ensuring a glorious output to the heat engine. Here are five must-see unveilings this year.

Audi A6 e-tron
After the marketing of the exceptional e-tron GT, the A6 e-tron will seek to defend the colors of Audi in a less expensive segment. Presenting itself with a less sporty approach than that of its sister, this new livery will be marketed alongside the petrol version of the intermediate. The new modular platform PPE (for Premium Platform Electric) will be used in this new mandate. The style study unveiled last year A6 e-tron concept of 470 hp produced by two electric motors gives a fairly complete taste of the production model which will be presented this year.
Chevrolet Blazer Electric
Many Blazer enthusiasts frowned at the sight of its latest generation unveiled in 2018. Its generalist crossover posture contradicted the model’s rugged past, a missed opportunity, some would say, to beat Ford with its Broncos. We now know that the future of the model will go through electrification. The big boss of General Motors, Mary Barra, recently confirmed on the sidelines of the Consumer Electronics Show that an electric version of the Blazer will be marketed in the spring of 2023, without detailing its characteristics. With the American giant’s BEV3 modular electric platform and Ultium technology, this newcomer could well come to scramble the cards and breathe new life into the Blazer.
Ford-Mustang
It is always difficult to develop a legendary model while making sure to spare the attributes that feed its narrative. That’s the challenge Ford is currently facing as the current generation of the Mustang reaches its end. According to several specialized publications, the next and seventh chapter of the pony car original is being written for production in March 2023. For the first time in its history, the American could offer a duo of hybrid engines – a four-cylinder turbo and a V8 – in order to contain its thirst. Some rumors also point to the offer of an all-wheel-drive livery. We will undoubtedly be entitled to more details during the year as well as an unveiling in anticipation of its commercialization.
Polestar 3
Building on a very convincing introduction with its models 1 and 2, Polestar presses the accelerator to ensure the development of its range. Volvo’s high-performance electric subsidiary will launch the third model in its history this year, which will join the 2 sedan in its current catalog. The Polestar 3, a compact SUV, will be the first model in the history of the brand assembled in the United States. Polestar claims that it will be equipped with a highly sophisticated semi-autonomous driving system based on laser remote sensing. No word yet on the range or power on offer, but a first image of a camouflaged example suggests a streamlined styling approach.
Volkswagen ID.Buzz
Who said nostalgia doesn’t sell anymore? Certainly not Volkswagen, which is preparing to revive its iconic Microbus, this time in an all-electric form. The ID.Buzz, that’s the name of the prototype, will be officially unveiled on March 9th. Volkswagen Canada has confirmed to us that it will be offered in our market. According to Car & Driver, the creation’s US livery will get a 200hp rear-wheel-drive version and a 300hp all-wheel-drive version, which should be offered here as well. This addition to the Volkswagen lineup will blow a breath of fresh air and will undoubtedly allow many families to turn to an electric model, if the price is obviously competitive.
