Russian military maneuvers started on the border in southern Ukraine on Tuesday, January 25. For their part, the United States say they are ready to react. The standoff continues between the two countries.
Tension is growing between Russia and Ukraine. So much so that on Monday, January 24, Washington (United States) placed thousands of NATO soldiers on alert. A meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, January 26, between advisers from Germany, France, Russia and Ukraine. The big maneuvers have already begun.
“The ball is in his court, I can’t tell you today what he will do, but we are preparing to take decisive action if he acts aggressively towards Ukraine.”, says Kamala Harris, Vice President of the United States. For its part, Russia is unfazed, and according to Moscow, it is the United States that is exacerbating tensions in the region. The standoff is therefore increasingly rough between the two countries.
