The Liberal Party of Canada appoints Minister Chrystia Freeland’s current chief of staff, Andrew Bevan, as campaign manager.

This position has been vacant since the departure of Jeremy Broadhurst, who had been in the role since 2019, over the summer.
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s deputy chief of staff, Marjorie Michel, will act as deputy campaign manager.
“As leader, Andrew Bevan has advanced progressive priorities for more than 30 years,” party leader Justin Trudeau said in a statement.
“With his extensive experience at the highest levels of provincial and federal politics, he is ready – with the support of Marjorie Michel and the entire Liberal Party campaign team – to develop a victorious campaign that will be focused on priorities of Canadians and who defends the building of a better future for all,” he adds.
This announcement comes in a context of uncertainty over the holding of federal elections given the end of the agreement last month with the New Democratic Party (NDP), which guaranteed the Liberals’ retention in power.
