Alex Barré-Boulet on waivers | The Montreal Journal

The Montreal Canadiens have placed the name of forward Alex Barré-Boulet on waivers with the aim of sending him back to the Laval Rocket on Sunday.

This news, which took more than one by surprise, follows the withdrawal of the Quebecer’s team, which did not face the Ottawa Senators at the Bell Center on Saturday evening. Martin St-Louis instead preferred Emil Heineman, who scored his first goal in the National Hockey League.

After convincing the organization to make a place for him with the big club during training camp, Barré-Boulet played the first two games of the season. He maintained a -2 differential and received a minor penalty.

This is not the first time that the 27-year-old athlete has gone through waivers. In October 2021, the Seattle Kraken claimed it after the Tampa Bay Lightning had offered it to all other teams.

After two games, the Kraken in turn placed him on waivers, and Barré-Boulet was picked up by the Lightning.

Free agent, the native of Montmagny signed a one-year contract with the Canadian on 1er last July.
