The United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) announced on Sunday (October 13) that two Israeli tanks forced their way into one of their border positions. The market in Nabatiyeh, a large town in southern Lebanon, was hit by Israeli strikes last night.

In photos, it is possible to see a UNIFIL soldier injured by exchanges of fire between Hezbollah and the Israeli army. He is one of five peacekeepers to have been affected since the start of the clashes. Some bases of the UN mission bear the scars of Israeli bombings. Diplomatic tension is tightening around the Jewish state and Benjamin Netanyahu called again during the day for the departure of UNIFIL men.

UNIFIL is under increasing pressure on the ground. According to the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon, two Israeli tanks forced the gates of one of its bases on the southern border of Lebanon last night. UNIFIL also accuses the Israeli army of deliberately blocking critical logistical movements in southern Lebanon.
