The situation has returned “relatively calm”, Sunday October 13 in the morning, on flooded rivers in the wake of the Kirk depression. Only Loir-et-Cher is kept on orange alert, Météo-France announced.

The flood alert in Eure-et-Loir has returned to yellow, with the reduction of vigilance concerning the upstream Eure section, indicate the forecaster and the government organization Vigicrues.

However, a significant flood is still spreading across the Loir Vendômois, in Loir-et-Cher, according to Vigicrues. “In the Vendôme sector, the level reached its maximum on Saturday evening and the decline has begun. The levels remain high. Further downstream, in Villavard, the maximum of the flood is expected this Sunday afternoon, in levels of damaging overflows”reports the monitoring service Vigicrues.

At the end of the wettest month of September in 25 years, the average annual precipitation totals have already been exceeded almost everywhere in mainland France.
