Gas stations in many parts of Florida are running out of gas as residents prepare for the hurricane. Several of them try to refuel before evacuating.

According to CNN, 1,477 gas stations were without fuel as of Tuesday evening. Florida has approximately 7,500 gas stations located across the state.

Of this number, there are several establishments of the Circle K banner, belonging to the Quebec giant Couche-Tard, including around a hundred in the region in question, according to a Couche-Tard spokesperson.

“During this difficult time, our thoughts and concerns are with everyone in the path of this hurricane, including our employees, customers and communities across Florida,” said Amine Ndamama, from Alimentation Couhe-Tard.

“We implemented our hurricane preparedness and communications plans, mobilized resources, coordinated with our suppliers, and secured our facilities to ensure we were ready to reopen as quickly as possible to serve our communities with the essential products they will need, once it is safe to do so,” she adds.

“While we remained open as long as possible ahead of the storm to be there for our customers, we are closely following guidelines from local and state authorities and have closed many of our locations, leaving our members to team enough time to prepare their homes and evacuate safely with their families.
