In an interview with TVA Nouvelles, the victim’s father maintained that she would have blamed the young people for coming to ring and knock on her door, but this hypothesis has not been confirmed.

“It’s mean and he wasn’t alone,” he said. He came in single file with his other comrades and he was the only one [qui a été visé]. So, we ask ourselves questions. Is it because he’s black?”

“She prepared her boiling water while waiting for the child,” adds the cousin of the victim’s father. She knew he was going to pass any moment and she went out to pour water on him.”

The woman in question, who is the neighbor across the street from the victim’s parents, was released on a promise to appear in court.

She is expected to face charges of assault causing harm and assault with a weapon when she returns to court in January.

“Only a vile person could do that to a child. He is completely terrorized and potentially physically scarred for life,” liberal MP Marwah Rizqy reacted to this news on X.
