(Phoenix) The Phoenix Suns were largely disappointed in the first season with the elite trio of Kevin Durant, Devin Booker and Bradley Beal.
The club hopes that continuity and a new support group will bring much more success.
The Suns were gathered at the Footprint Center on Monday, about five months after being swept in the first round by the T-Wolves-despite a 49-33 regular season record.
Booker likes the idea of a fresh start, but adds some bitterness. And maybe that’s a good thing, said the four-time all-star.
“To be eliminated like that, I don’t think it’s something to take lightly or pretend it didn’t happen,” Booker said. We need to get motivation from it. Having experience is the best way to learn. »

New coach Mike Budenholzer replaces Frank Vogel, who was on the job for just one season.
A native of Arizona, Budenholzer led the Milwaukee Bucks when they won the NBA Finals in 2021, at the expense of the Suns.
Phoenix also took part in the final round in 1976 and 1993, without triumphing to date.
The Suns acquired Tyus Jones, Monte Morris and center Mason Plumlee, who will be Jusuf Nurkic’s backup.
Booker and Durant, who turned 36 on Sunday, greatly helped the Americans win gold at the Paris Olympics.

Booker will already be at a 10e season in the NBA.
A few years ago, he teased veteran Chris Paul about the extent of his routines to stay in shape. Even though he’s only 27, he’s starting to understand.

Beal missed the majority of the first half of 2023-24 due to injuries. He never seemed truly comfortable in Vogel’s system.
