To your aprons! Today, I present to you Élodie Fontaine, a young 11-year-old Quebec actress who is starting her career in cinema. Élodie plays in the comedy Everyone is crazy!in theaters since Friday. I had the chance to ask him lots of questions!
Elodie, Everyone is crazy!this is your first role in a movie! How did you react when you learned that you had been chosen to play in this comedy?
I was really happy! It was a dream come true. I had to do a lot of auditions to get to this point. Sometimes I got far enough in the audition process to not get the job. But I persevered and it finally worked out!
What is it like to do auditions?
It’s a bit stressful. You have to learn a lot of text by heart! I’m nervous at the time, but it’s still the fun !
In the film, your character, Lili-Beth, has to learn to cook in order to participate in a cooking competition. Do you cook?
I know how to cook, but it doesn’t happen often. On the other hand, I make really good pesto pasta!
In the film, actress Julie Le Breton plays your mother, Sonia. What was it like having a fake mother?
It wasn’t at all disturbing for me! By being together, Julie and I became friends. We got along well, even between scenes. Julie is super nice. It was easy to play with her!
On set, how do you manage your stress?
First of all, I breathe! I inhale, then I exhale. Otherwise, I withdraw a little, I reread my text. There are also coaches for children who can help you practice your lines.
Is there a prop on set that you would have liked to take home as a souvenir?
Actually, I took pretty much everything! Like a turquoise pajama with little dots that had been made to my size. And since the glasses I wore in the film were made to my strength, I got to keep them!
