François Legault will travel to France next month, the Prime Minister’s office announced Friday.
He will participate in a bilateral mission from 1er on October 3, then on the 19the Francophonie Summit on October 4 and 5 in Paris.
This year, the Francophonie Summit, which brings together members of the International Organization of La Francophonie (OIF), will have the theme “Create, innovate and undertake in French”.
“As a full member, Quebec will seize the opportunity to assert its priorities. With the aim of promoting the French language, it will focus in particular on promising areas such as the discoverability of French-language content online, the economy, innovation and youth,” the Prime Minister’s office indicated in a press release.
Mr. Legault will be accompanied by Martine Biron, Minister of International Relations and La Francophonie and Minister responsible for the Status of Women.
“Prior to the Francophonie Summit, the Prime Minister will take the opportunity to meet with key figures from the economic world, with the main objective of continuing to increase trade and consolidating ties between Quebec and French businesses, in the wake of the 21e Alternate meeting of the Quebec and French prime ministers,” announced the Prime Minister’s office.
