G-League | Six games at Place Bell

There will definitely be some action at Place Bell this year. The arena will host six games of the Long Island Nets, the Brooklyn Nets’ farm team. The team will temporarily change its identity to please fans in La Belle Province.

The six games will be presented between January and March. The first two will pit the Nets against the Raptors 905, the Toronto Raptors’ farm team. In addition to the games, the Nets will hold a basketball clinic in Laval during the month of February.

For these games, the team’s logo will be modified. It will feature fleurs-de-lys and the cross on the summit of Mount Royal. The red color was chosen to recall McGill University, where basketball inventor James Naismith taught from 1888 to 1890.

“Montreal has a vibrant basketball history, and this partnership presents a unique opportunity to blend our culture with that of this community,” said Nets Director of Business Operations Morgan Taylor.
