A 28-year-old man is currently in police custody, suspected of having stabbed an educator at the Valdahon (Doubs) medical-social center, reports France Bleu Besançon, Wednesday, September 4. An investigation for “attempted murder” has been opened.
The 43-year-old educator at the medical-social center was stabbed on Wednesday around 2 p.m. in the premises of the France Services house in Valdahon by a local resident with whom he had an appointment. The man, armed with a knife, jumped on him. The victim was hit in the stomach before being airlifted to Besançon hospital.
“According to the latest news, the health of the educator is stable”says Sylvie Le Hir, mayor of Valdahon, to France Bleu Besançon. “It’s reassuring, that’s the most important thing. The agents present on site were very scared. We immediately set up a psychological unit,” she added without being able to specify on Wednesday evening whether the France Services house would be able to reopen its doors on Thursday.
